She felt the pain of loss. And a loss of pain by the numbness she felt toward the world after all had unfolded. She felt all the stresses of college, knowing she would be destined to go to the cheapest community college in the area; her parents doing. She felt more alone than ever. She closed her eyes and blocked everything out but that beautiful sound of falling rain, like angels straight out of Heaven. Perhaps that was the wrong simile, but none of that mattered. The rain contained age-old memories; and her memories belonged to the rain. It kept her company, and in its solace, she was loved back.
